It was a dark and stormy night, and after driving 5 hours across flooded Missouri freeways we checked in to our hotel. Hey, how about a pizza and some wine, I suggested? Only a few places open anywhere close but we lucked out with The Pizza Shoppe. Ordered a veggie special and it was ready right as I walked in the door.. still nice and hot back at the hotel.. and OH, IT WAS SO GOOD. A nice, artisan-style pie with a thin crust, high-quality toppings and obviously made by a pro. I really should have taken a picture of this beautiful pizza (oh well.. but here's a pic of the box, at least). Yes, we HIGHLY recommend this place!!

Pizza shoppe is one of my favorites and this location is no exception! We happened to show up about an hour before close with a larger group and the staff was as kind and accommodating as could be. And now that I know about first Fridays I'll definitely be back more than I should be
